Friday Sermons- Sermon (0089): "And I (Allah) did not Create the jinns and humans except they should worship Me."

In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful

The purpose of man's existence:

 Dear believing brother, all people utter the word 'worship', but they vary in understanding it. Some people consider worship obedience, other people say that it is piety and some of them think that it refers to other things than those mentioned. The main issue which we need to know is: What does this word mean according to Allah? Why are we supposed to worship Allah? Because there is one Quranic Ayah indicates that Almighty Allah made worshipping Him the main purpose of creating us. What did Allah create, and for what purposes? Almighty Allah says:

{ I (Allah) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone)}.

(Adh-Dhariyat: 56)

  Also, in the following Ayah Almighty Allah says:

{By the night as it envelops* and by the day as it appears in brightness* And by Him Who created male and female* Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes)}

(Al-Lail: 1-4)

  Some people work hard to raise money, other people run after power, some people seek enjoying the pleasures of the worldly life, some people exert effort to have orchards, some people seek constructing buildings, some seek the glory, some people make efforts to make their kinship well-known, etc. Almighty Allah says:

{Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes)}

(Al-Lail: 4)

  What kind of efforts does Allah like? What kind of efforts does Allah bless? For which efforts Allah created us? What kind of efforts makes us happy in the worldly life and in the Hereafter? What kind of efforts is the right one?
  Your efforts are various, diverse, different and contradictory. Furthermore, your efforts may end in deadlock, and they may end up with death. Perhaps when death comes to you all your efforts and gains in the worldly life will be worthless.
  Almighty Allah says:

{And We shall turn to whatever deeds they (disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, etc.) did, and We shall make such deeds as scattered floating particles of dust}

(Al-Furqan: 23)

  Relentless pursuit to raise money or to occupy a prominent position could be the cause of man's misery in the Hereafter. Almighty Allah says:

{My wealth has not availed me* my power and arguments (to defend myself) have gone from me!"* (It will be said): "Seize him and fetter him* then throw him in the blazing Fire.}

(Al-Haqqah: 28-31)

  Also, Almighty Allah says:

{Say (O Muhammad, peace be upon him): "Shall We tell you the greatest losers in respect of (their) deeds?* "Those whose efforts have been wasted in this life while they thought that they were acquiring good by their deeds!}

(Al-Kahf: 103-104)

  It is really dangerous when someone runs after something which end in deadlock or may end up with misery and obvious loss. Almighty Allah says:

{Say (O Muhammad, peace b upon him): "Shall We tell you the greatest losers in respect of (their) deeds?* "Those whose efforts have been wasted in this life while they thought that they were acquiring good by their deeds!}

(Al-Kahf: 103-104)

  Also, Almighty Allah says:

{And be not like those who forgot Allah (i.e. became disobedient to Allah) and He caused them to forget their ownselves, (let them to forget to do righteous deeds). Those are the Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah)}

(Al-Hashr: 19)

  Your efforts and deeds are diverse, but what kind of efforts is the right, the useful and the profitable one?
Almighty Allah says:

{And I (Allah) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone)}.

(Adh-Dhariyat: 56)

  Worshipping Allah is the only worthwhile effort; it is the one which has no end and the one which makes you happy forever and ever. Hence, what is worship?
  In another Ayah Almighty Allah says:

{Except him on whom your Lord has bestowed His Mercy (the follower of truth - Islamic Monotheism) and for that did He create them.}

(Hud: 119)

  Moreover, in the first Ayah I mentioned (at the very beginning of this Khutbah), Almighty Allah says:

{And I (Allah) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone)}.

(Adh-Dhariyat: 56)

  In the Ayah I've just mentioned Almighty Allah says:

{Except him on whom your Lord has bestowed His Mercy (the follower of truth - Islamic Monotheism) and for that did He create them.}

(Hud: 119)

  Hence, it seems that worshipping Allah is identical to have the mercy of Allah bestowed upon you; Allah created us to bestow mercy upon us, to please us and to make us enjoy being close to Him. Besides, He created us to let us get into the Paradise as wide as the heavens and earth, and which no eye has ever seen, no ear has ever heard and no human heart has ever perceived. Allah created us to grant us everlasting life that never ends (the life in Paradise), and where there is no worries, no sadness, no illness, no aging, no hunger, no thirst, no heat, no coldness and no troubles of the worldly life. In brief, He created us to worship Him.

Worship begins with knowing Allah:

  What is the meaning of worship?
  Worship starts with knowing Allah the Exalted, then obeying Him, and it ends up with having His Mercy bestowed upon you. In other words as you know Allah, you obey Him, and so you are pleased with being close to Him.

((A man came to the Prophet, peace be upon him, and said, "O Allah's Messenger, peace be upon him, I came to you in order to teach me the wonders of (Islamic) knowledge." The prophet, peace be upon him, said, "What have you done about the essence of (Islamic) knowledge?" The man asked, "What is the essence of knowledge?" The Prophet, peace be upon him, said, "Have you known the Lord?")).

  Therefore, some of the scholars of the interpretation of the Noble Quran said, " The meaning of "they should worship me" in the Ayah, {And I (Allah) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone)} is: they should know me." Accordingly, if you know Him (truly), you worship Him, if you know Him, you obey Him, if you know Him, you approach Him and if you know Him, you are pleased with being close to Him and being granted His Mercy. Almighty Allah says:

{So invoke not with Allah another ilah (god) lest you be among those who receive punishment* and warn your tribe (O Muhammad, peace be upon him) of near kindred* and be kind and humble to the believers who follow you* then if they disobey you, say: "I am innocent of what you do."* And put your trust in the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful* Who sees you (O Muhammad peace be upon him) when you stand up (alone at night for Tahajjud prayers)* and your movements among those who fall prostrate (along with you to Allah in the five compulsory congregational prayers)* Verily! He, only He, is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower.}

(Ash-Shu'ara': 213-220)

Why do we worship Almighty Allah?

  This is a crucial question: Why do we worship Allah? For what reasons, motives and purposes do we worship Him? He created us to worship Him, to know Him, so that we approach Him. When we know Him, we obey Him and so we are pleased with getting closer to Him. Almighty Allah answered this question in nine Ayaht in the Noble Quran. Once again, why do we worship Allah?

1- We worship Allah because He is the Creator:

  Almighty Allah says:

{O mankind! Worship your Lord (Allah), Who created you.}

(Al-Baqarah: 21)

  Does not Allah deserve to be worshipped? He is the One Who created you from a sperm-drop, and you were nothing before. Almighty Allah says:

{Has there not been over man a period of time, when he was nothing to be mentioned?}

(Al-Insan: 1)

  Allah created you from nothing; you were nothing, but then you became a human being. Does not the Creator deserve to be worshipped? Is there anyone worthy to be joined in worship with the Creator?
  Almighty Allah says:

{O mankind! Worship your Lord (Allah), Who created you and those who were before you.}

(Al-Baqarah: 21)

  He created the Worlds, all creations, the heavens, the earth, all that in them, all that between them, all that under the earth and all that on it. This is the main reason of and the major facts about of worshipping Allah.
  Almighty Allah says:

{Who creates as one who creates not? Will you not then remember?}

(An- Nahl: 21)

  Almighty Allah says:

{Were they created by nothing, or were they themselves the creators?}

(At-Tur: 35)

  Almighty Allah says:

{Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no firm Belief.}

(At-Tur: 36)

  This is one of the reasons of worshipping Allah.

2- We worship Allah because He is the instructor:

  The second reason is mentioned in Allah's Saying:

{Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord}

(Al-Ma'idah': 72)

  Allah created you, and then He instructed you; He provides you with food, air, fresh and sweet water, various kinds of fruits and vegetables, crops, children and money. He created the mountains, the rivers, the sky, the land, the seas, the birds and the fish for you. All these things were created just for you and just for pleasing you. Well, this is the other reason. Almighty Allah says:

{Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord}

(Al-Ma'idah': 72)

  Does not the Lord deserve to be worshipped? He is the One Who created us and bestowed His Blessings upon us and provided us with whatever we need. He is the One Who disciplines us physically and spiritually and disciplines our children. Almighty Allah is the Lord, and praise be to Allah, Lord of Creations.

3- We worship Allah because to Him return all affairs:

  There is a third reason; Almighty Allah says:

{Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord}

(Al-Ma'idah': 72)

 He is the Owner of all affairs; in His Hand is the dominion of heavens and earth. Also, everything happens by His Command, Ability and Will. Almighty Allah says:

{Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord}

(Al-Ma'idah': 72)

  The following Ayah confirms this reason:

{And to Him return all affairs (for decision)}

(Hud: 123)

  All the affairs return to Him; the affairs of your health with all its details, of your marriage with all its previous stages of your children, of your provision, of your work, of your earning, of your income, of your troubles which you are in and of your worries. Almighty Allah says:

{And to Him return all affairs (for decision)}

(Hud: 123)

  Therefore, you should worship Him and put your trust in Him. If you worship other than Allah, you commit a deadly mistake. Almighty Allah says:

{And (remember) when Luqman said to his son when he was advising him: "O my son! Join not in worship sh3er with Allah. Verily! Joining sh3er in worship with Allah is a great Zulm (wrong) indeed.}

(Luqman: 13)

  How strange it is! You put trust in a creature who possess no power of benefit or hurt neither to you nor to himself. Almighty Allah says:

{Say (O Muhammad, peace be upon him): "I possess no power of benefit or hurt to myself except as Allah wills. If I had the knowledge of the Ghaib (unseen), I should have secured for myself an abundance of wealth, and no evil should have touched me.}

(Al-A'raf: 188)

  The Prophet, peace be upon him, himself said that he had no power of benefit or hurt to himself, so how about whoever is inferior to him?

4- We worship Allah, because He grants us tranquility:

  The fourth reason is indicated in Almighty Allah's Saying:

{So let them worship (Allah) the Lord of this House (the Ka'bah in Makkah)* (He) Who has fed them against hunger, and has made them safe from fear.}

(Quraish: 3-4)

 Could your money have benefited you had not Allah created fruits and the vegetables? Could your properties have had any use had Allah made water sunk away? What would have happened to us had not Allah stored this water for a whole full year for us?
  Almighty Allah says:

{and it is not you who are the owners of its stores}

(Al-Hijr: 22)

  What could have we done had oxygen decreased on the air, and so we had choked?
  Almighty Allah says:

{So let them worship (Allah) the Lord of this House (the Ka'bah in Makkah)* (He) Who has fed them against hunger, and has made them safe from fear.}

(Quraish: 3-4)

  Who bestows tranquility upon your heart? Allah the Exalted does. Who does facilitate your provision for you? Almighty Allah does.

5- We worship Allah because He is the Death Giver:

 Another reason is clarified in Almighty Allah's Saying:

{But I worship Allah Who causes you to die}

(Yunus: 104)

  Almighty Allah says:

{Verily, to Us will be their return* Then verily, for Us will be their reckoning.}

(Al-Ghaashiyah: 25-26)

 It is reported in the relic:

"They all went to continue their affairs and left you alone. They buried you in the soil, and had they stayed with you, they would not have benefited you. It is Only Me Who can stay with you, for I am the Ever-Living Who never dies."

 The only One Who stays with you is Allah. Almighty Allah says:

{But I worship Allah Who causes you to die}

(Yunus: 104)

  Only Him deserves to be worshipped. When the angel of death comes to take your soul, you will be in His Grip, and He will be the Only One with You.

6- We worship Allah because the judgment is for Him:

  Almighty Allah says:

{The command (or the judgment) is for none but Allah.}

(Yusuf: 40)

  In every issue the judgment is for none but Allah, so He has commanded that you worship none but Him.  Almighty Allah says:

{The command (or the judgment) is for none but Allah. He has commanded that you worship none but Him.}

(Yusuf: 40)

  Because the judgment is in the Hand of Allah, not for any other party, Allah has commanded you to worship none but Him. Almighty Allah says:

{Lord of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, so worship Him (Alone) and be constant and patient in His worship,Do you know of any who is similar to Him?}

(Maryam: 65)

  Since He is the Creator, the Lord, to Him return all affairs, He has fed us against hunger and made us safe from fear, He causes us to die, the judgment is for Him Alone and He is Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is in between, we are ordered to worship Him. These are the reasons and the fundamental matters which drive us to worship Allah.

The major Da'wah is the comprehensive worship:

  I would like to tell you something dear believing brother: The Da'wah of all the Messengers, peace be upon them, is worshipping Almighty Allah. Almighty Allah says:

{And to 'Ad (people, We sent) their brother Hud. He said: "O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him. (La ilaha ill-Allah: none has the right to be worshipped but Allah). Will you not fear (Allah)}

(Al-A'raf: 65)

  Also, Almighty Allah says:

{And to Thamud (people, We sent) their brother Salih (Saleh). He said: "O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him. (La ilaha ill-Allah: none has the right to be worshipped but Allah)}.

(Al-A'raf: 73)

  In the following Ayah, Almighty Allah says:

{And to (the people of) Madyan (Midian), (We sent) their brother Shu'aib. He said: "O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him. [La ilaha ill-Allah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah)]}

(Al-A'raf: 85)

 Almighty Allah also says:

{And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (community, nation) a Messenger (proclaiming): "Worship Allah (Alone)}

(An-Nahl: 36)

 Almighty Allah says:

{And We sent not a Messenger except with the language of his people, in order that he might make (the Message) clear for them. Then Allah misleads whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.}

(Ibrahim: 4)

 The Da'wah of all the Messengers and the Prophets, peace be upon them, is about {You have no other Ilah (God) but Him}, {Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him}, and {La ilaha illa Ana [none has the right to be worshipped but I (Allah)], so worship Me (Alone and none else)}. In fact this Da'wah is not restricted to the Islamic religion, but rather is embraces all religions, all messages and all Da'wat (the plural of Da'wah). Hence, the major Da'wah is worshipping Allah Alone.
 Dear brother of faith, not every performance of acts of worship is considered a real performance, not whoever performers Salah is called Musalli (the one who performs Salah perfectly) and not whoever worships Allah is a real worshipper. Almighty Allah says:

{Worship Allah and join none with Him in worship,}

(An-Nisa': 36)

 Some of the scholars have made a difference between worship and obedience saying that worship is comprehensive. Hence, if you don't act upon Allah's Order by applying, but instead you choose to apply what suits you and leave what does not and to apply the orders which you find within your ability and leave the sh3er thinking that they are beyond you scope, then you are not considered a worshipper of Allah. The proof is in the following Ayah:

{Worship Allah and join none with Him in worship}

(An-Nisa': 36)

 Worshipping Allah should be comprehensive; all Allah's Orders should be applied without exceptions. When you get married you are applying Allah's Order knowing that marriage brings you goodness in the life. Also, shortening Salah is Sunnah, and so you apply it. However, your heroism is manifested in applying all Allah's Orders (the prohibited and permissible matters).
 The other point concerning worship is clarified in Allah's Saying:

{So worship Allah (Alone) by doing religious deeds sincerely for Allah's sake only, (and not to show-off, and not to set up rivals with Him in worship)}

(Az-Zumar: 2)

 Worshipping Allah should be Free of Shirk, showing off and hypocrisy. You shouldn't appear in front of the people only to show off and enjoy listening to their praise to you, but rather, you are supposed to do good deeds sincerely for Allah's Sake.
 Almighty Allah says:

{And worship your Lord until there comes unto you the certainty (i.e. death)}

(Al-Hijr: 99)

 Some scholars said, "The word (the certainty) means death", while other scholars said, "It means you have to worship Allah, until you see the facts." Man becomes certain about something when he sees it:

{He (Allah) said: "Do you not believe?" He [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "Yes (I believe), but to be stronger in Faith."}

(Al-Baqarah: 260)

 Keep worshipping Allah until you move from the stage of fighting against doubts to the stage of perusing exaltation, and from the stage of blind imitation to the one of worshipping Allah with sure knowledge. Almighty Allah says:

{Say (O Muhammad): "This is my way; I invite unto Allah (i.e. to the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) with sure knowledge, I and whosoever follows me (also must invite sh3er to Allah i.e to the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) with sure knowledge. And Glorified and Exalted be Allah (above all that they associate as partners with Him). And I am not of the Mushrikun (polytheists, pagans, idolaters and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah; those who worship sh3er along with Allah or set up rivals or partners to Allah)}

(Yusuf: 108)

 Almighty Allah says:

{And worship your Lord until there comes unto you the certainty (i.e. death)}

(Al-Hijr: 99)

 You should worship Him and obey Him until facts become clear to you, until you know what is good and what is evil, until you realize the truth about Salah, about Zakat about Siyaam about lowering the gaze and the Islamic Method. Almighty Allah says:

{And worship your Lord until there comes unto you the certainty (i.e. death)}

(Al-Hijr: 99)

  Almighty Allah says:

(Nay! But worship Allah (Alone and none else), and be among the grateful)

(Az-Zumar: 66)

  You must be sincere while performing your worship comprehensively, your worship should lead you to the sure knowledge and you should be grateful to Allah while you are worshipping Him.
  The following Ayah is the only Ayah in the Noble Quran in which Almighty Allah says:

{O My slaves who believe! Certainly, spacious is My earth. Therefore worship Me (Alone)}

(Al-Ankabut: 56)

  If you live in a country where you can't worship Allah, you should move to another one. You have no excuses if you stay in that country, and there should be nothing that makes you abandon worshipping Allah. Almighty Allah says:

{O My slaves who believe! Certainly, spacious is My earth. Therefore worship Me (Alone)}

(Al-Ankabut: 56)

 This is how Allah wants you to worship Him; you should worship Allah comprehensively, sincerely and with clear insight and gratefulness. Also, Allah wants you to favor worshipping Him over everything including your own interests. If you live in a country where you work, you have social relations with sh3er and you have a prominent social position, but you cannot worship Allah, you should travel to another country. Jarir bin Abdullah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated: The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, says:

(("I am not responsible for any Muslim who stays among Mushrikeen (polytheists)." They asked, "Why, Apostle of Allah?" He, peace be upon him, said, "Their fires should not be visible to one another."))

(At-Tirmidhi)

  If you moved to live in a country, where Allah is publically disobeyed, where you can't worship Allah, where disobedience, immorality and debauchery are committed in the streets, but you insist on staying in such a country, because you can achieve your own interests, you can earn high income and you can fulfill all your needs, and you forget about worshipping Allah, then you are a loser.

  You should live in a country where you can worship Allah, pray and apply Allah's Orders. Almighty Allah says:

{O My slaves who believe! Certainly, spacious is My earth. Therefore worship Me (Alone)}

(Al-Ankabut: 56)

  What are people who like the worldly life doing? What do they worship?
  Almighty Allah says:

{And they (disbelievers, polytheists, etc.) worship besides Allah, that which can neither profit them nor harm them, and the disbeliever is ever a helper (of the Satan) against his Lord.}

(Al-Furqan: 55)

  Also, Almighty Allah says:

{And they worship sh3er besides Allah, such as do not and cannot own any provision for them from the heavens or the earth}

(An-Nahl: 73)

  In the following Ayah Almighty Allah says:

{And they worship besides Allah sh3er for which He has sent down no authority, and of which they have no knowledge and for the Zalimun (wrong-doers, polytheists and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah) there is no helper.}

(Al-Hajj: 71)

  Whatever you worship has no power of provision, profit or hurt to you. Yet you worship it!!

((Myself, mankind and jinns are in a great serious state. I create them, then they worship other gods that they make for themselves; I bless them with my bounties, then they thank someone else for what I sent them; My Mercy descends to them while their evil deeds ascend to Me; I endear them with my gifts even though I have no need to any of them while they alienate themselves from Me with their sins even though they are desperate for my help.))

 Almighty Allah says:

{Say (O Muhammad, peace be upon him, to the polytheists, etc.): "Do you order me to worship other than Allah O you fools?"}

(Az-Zumar: 64)

 Also, Almighty Allah says:

{When he said to his father: "O my father! Why do you worship that which hears not, sees not and cannot avail you in anything?}

(Maryam: 42)

 Whatever you worship other than Allah does not hear you if you call it, and if it hears you, it does not answer you., so why do you worship that which does not hear you, see you or avail you in anything?

{Almighty Allah says:{And reauthor to them the story of Ibrahim (Abraham)* When he said to his father and his people: "What do you worship?"* They said: "We worship idols, and to them we are ever devoted."* He said: "Do they hear you, when you call (on them)?* "Or do they benefit you or do they harm (you)?"* They said: "Nay, but we found our fathers doing so."* He said: "Do you observe that which you have been worshipping,* "You and your ancient fathers?* "Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists);* "Who has created me, and it is He Who guides me;* "And it is He Who feeds me and gives me to drink.}

(Ash-Shu'ara': 69-79)

 Almighty Allah says:

{He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve?}

(As-Saffaat: 95)

  In the above Ayah Allah addresses idolaters and people who create things by their hands, and they glorify it other than Allah.
  Dear believing brother, what do those who worship Allah have to do with those who don't? The following two Ayat clarify this:
  Almighty Allah says:

{The young men said to one another): "And when you withdraw from them, and that which they worship, except Allah, then seek refuge in the Cave, your Lord will open a way for you from His Mercy and will make easy for you your affair }

(Al-Kahf: 16)

  Hence, if they don't worship Allah, you should keep yourself away from them, least you will be negatively influenced by them, and so you will be afflicted with what they are afflicted:
  Almighty Allah says:

{Say (O Muhammad, peace be upon him, to these Mushrikun and Kafirun): "O Al-Kafirun (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, in His Angels, in His Books, in His Messengers, in the Day of Resurrection, and in Al-Qadar, etc.)* !"I worship not that which you worship}

(Al-Kaafiroon: 1-2)

  There should be a long distance between you and them (Mushrikeen).
  Dear brother, call yourselves to account before you are called to do so and weigh your deeds before they are weighed against you. You should know that the angel of death has been reaching sh3er and will reach us soon, so pay heed. A wise man is the one who calls himself to account (and refrains from doing evil deeds) and does noble deeds to benefit him after death; and the foolish person is the one who subdues himself to his temptations and desires and seeks from Allah the fulfillment of his vain desires.

  Praise be to Allah, Lord of Creations
*****************************
  2nd Khutbah:
  Praise be to Allah, Lord of Creations, and I bear witness that there is no god but Allah Alone, the Protector of righteous people; and I bear witness that Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, is His servant and His Messenger, whose character is exalted. O Allah, our Lord, have peace and blessings upon our Master Muhammad, upon his Folks and upon his Companions.

Worshipping Allah and its results:

  Dear believing brother, you should stay away from those who don't worship Allah and keep a barrier (symbolical one) between you and them in order to veil yourself from them. Otherwise, you will be affected by them, like most Muslims. If you know someone who is Mushrik and worships other than Allah, you shouldn't befriend him, because befriending him will have harmful effects on you. In the following Ayah Allah describes an unhealthy kind of worship, Almighty Allah says:

{And among mankind is he who worships Allah as it were, upon the very edge (i.e. in doubt); if good befalls him, he is content therewith; but if a trial befalls him, he turns back on his face (i.e. reverts back to disbelief after embracing Islam). He loses both this world and the Hereafter. That is the evident loss}.

(Al-Hajj: 11)

  It means, you worship Allah as long as everything is good, but you quit worshipping Him the minute something wrong happens to you. This is unhealthy situation which people whose faith is shaky suffer from. Almighty Allah says:

{Among the believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah [i.e. they have gone out for Jihad (holy fighting), and showed not their backs to the disbelievers], of them some have fulfilled their obligations (i.e. have been martyred), and some of them are still waiting, but they have never changed [i.e. they never proved treacherous to their covenant which they concluded with Allah] in the least.}

(Al-Ahzab: 23)

  You should worship Allah in prosperity and in adversity, when you are poor and when you are rich, when you have good health and when you are sick, in relief and in hardship, when you are young and when you get older, when you are single and when you get married, when you occupy a humble social position and when you occupy a prominent one and so on. The main point is worshipping Allah in all situations Almighty Allah mentions the people whose faith is weak in the following Ayah saying:

{And among mankind is he who worships Allah as it were, upon the very edge (i.e. in doubt); if good befalls him, he is content therewith; but if a trial befalls him, he turns back on his face (i.e. reverts back to disbelief after embracing Islam). He loses both this world and the Hereafter. That is the evident loss.}

(Al-Hajj: 11)

  The last point of our Khutbah today is about the outcomes of worshipping Allah. Almighty Allah says:

{Allah has promised those among you who believe, and do righteous good deeds, that He will certainly grant them succession to (the present rulers) in the earth, as He granted it to those before them, and that He will grant them the authority to practise their religion, that which He has chosen for them (i.e. Islam). And He will surely give them in exchange a safe security after their fear}

(An-Nur: 55)

 They will be granted a safe security, the authority to practise their religion and the succession in the earth. The price for being granted all these is worshipping Allah Alone. Thus, worshipping Allah is the most essential thing in man's life. Almighty Allah says:

{O you who believe! Bow down, and prostrate yourselves, and worship your Lord and do good that you may be successful}.

( Al-Hajj: 77)

Du'a:

  O Allah, we beseech You to show us the way of righteousness together with those to whom You showed it; and to give us good health together with those whom You have healed; and to be our Protector, as You are of those whom You protect; and to bless what You have bestowed on us; and to save us from the affliction that You have decreed –for You rule with justice and You are never judged; and he whom You protect shall never be humiliated, and he whom You make Your enemy shall never be elevated, blessed and dignified are You. We thank You for what You have decreed, we ask You for Forgiveness for our sins, and we repent to You.

 O Allah, grant us a good deed that would draw us closer to You. Please, increase us [in Your Blessings] and do not decrease us, honor us and do not humiliate us, give us [from Your Gifts] and do not deprive us, be in favor of us and not against us, and make us satisfied and be satisfied with us. Please make us do well in the Deen, which is our dignity, make us do well in our worldly life, in which we dwell and grant us safety on the Day of Judgment, for it is our Final Destination. O Allah, please supply our life with all good things and make our death a rest from every evil.

 O our Master, the Lord of all Worlds, please make us desire what You have made lawful and reject what You have made unlawful, make us by Your benevolence independent of all sh3er and make our obedience to You turn us away from our disobedience. O Allah, let us not be oblivious to Your planning; do not deprive us of Your shield and do not make us forget Your remembrance, O Lord of the Worlds.

  O Allah, we seek refuge in You from the malice of enemies, incurable disease, shattered hope and withdrawal of favor, O You are the Most Generous. We seek refuge in You from need except of You, from meekness except before You and from fear except of You.

 O Allah, by Your Mercy and Benevolence, raise high the word of truth and this Deen, grant triumph to Islam, dignify Muslims and lead the rulers of Muslims to what pleases You, O Lord of the Worlds, as You are the only One Who is capable over His decreed.
